Can it really be the end of the year??

Wow, where has the time gone this year? I thought that being a stay-at-home-Mum would mean that the year wouldn't fly by so quickly, but boy was I wrong, I think it's gone by even faster. When I think back on the year there are a couple of things that will stay with me forever. My son getting older by the day, nearly two, and amazing me with his cleverness is the biggest stand out for the year. Plus, my newly developed passion for knitting. Deciding on a whim back in June that I might like to try my hand at a little knitting, it has blossomed into a full blown addiction and I'm loving every minute of it (except perhaps for the seaming of items!). This has also led me to find countless talented and inspiring people online and of course Ravelry - where would we be without it?? Another surprise from this year has been the discovery of a whole group of friends from high school on Facebook It's been incredible to see how much, and how little, people have changed over the years.

We've also just returned from a lovely trip visiting my family and friends in Adelaide, which has reinforced my thoughts that I need to cherish those relationships a bit more than I have over the past year or two which leads to my first idea of a new years resolution - to make sure I keep in touch with the people who are important to me on a more regular basis.

So, it's sayonara to 2008 and a big hello and welcome to 2009, may it be a year full of happiness, health, friends and family.

I found staying at home with my kids definitely went faster than when I was working. If I could have afforded to, I would have been a stay at home mom.
