Anniversary...

Three years ago today was my wedding day, we had a wonderful day full of laughter, dancing and.....sunburn! Yep, I seriously didn't think I'd need to put on sunscreen on my wedding day and for that I was sorry. While we were out and about getting the pictures taken I got a nasty burn on my neck, decolletage and arms. I ended up looking like a beetroot and subsequently ended up peeling in a very wintry New York while on our honeymoon, but that's another story!

Our wedding was a bit of a combination one, seeing as my husband is Macedonian Orthodox and I'm a Catholic. We had the wedding at his church but broke with tradition slightly so that my Dad could walk me in and give me away. He still says it was one of the best days of his life which is really touching coming from my Dad, he's your typical Aussie bloke! The rest of the night was filled with dancing with my family and friends having a ball with the Macedonian band and dancing that we had. All round it was a fantastic day....just as it should be. I've been thinking back to that day a lot today, our anniversary, and am happy to say that I have many happy and fulfilling memories of that day and the last three years. Here's to many many more happy years together. Cheers!

PURPLE...

I've decided that every Tuesday is going to be "Purple Day", seeing as it's my favourite colour, and I'm going to post about something purple. So here goes for Purple #1.

This is my little notebook which I use for making lists of things I need to do. After having my son I found that I was forgetting to do things I needed to do on a regular basis, so I started making lists. Each night I check that I've accomplished at least some of the things on the list for that particular day then I map out the list for the next day. It's not something I stick to on a strict basis, but it does help me keep track of things and it's a good place to jot down ideas, etc.
Since I started using this I've found it helps me in that when I go to bed I don't have lists of things to do running through my head when I'm trying to sleep, it's already written down so I don't have to concern myself with it, I can close my eyes and drift off to a peaceful slumber!

What do you do for remembering things you have to do?

My son the dinosaur

The little man is now two and is growing more independent and sure of himself by the day. He loves all things "dinosaur", as mentioned in a previous post, and likes to walk around stomping and roaring whenever he can. For his birthday his Aunty bought him a tail which also roars. It's great, but he wasn't too sure about it at first, but the other day I managed to snap him having a play with it.

I've noticed too that he has started to play act a lot more and I began to wonder at what age that usually starts. He's starting to pretend he's a dog, coming up to me barking and scratching behind his ear (very cute), as well as interacting with two toys making them talk to one another and feeding them, and so on. It's so interesting to watch him do these things, some of them seemingly coming out of thin air. So, my question is, how old were your kids when they started to play act?
